Adult Workforce Development Introduces New Program to Connect Ohio
Important Dates and Events
Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools is gearing up for a new 34,000-square-foot facility named the NextGen Training Center, located at Fairfield Career Center in Carroll. The new facility will feature a state-of-the-art lab for an additional high school Welding program and an adult Broadband Infrastructure Training Program.
Eastland-Fairfield will offer the Broadband Infrastructure Training program to students aged 18 and over with a high school diploma or GED/HSE certificate. Up to four industry credentials are available, as well as hands-on training to prepare students for careers in broadband and fiber optic cable installation and maintenance in a variety of settings.
This 14-week program will be hosted at the Fairfield County Workforce Center in Carroll and be held three evenings per week.

Eastland Career Center senior Jael Haynes-Lee took part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience through a leadership academy hosted by West Point Military Academy, this summer.
Jael, a Criminal Justice student from Hamilton Township High School, was selected among thousands of applicants to attend the West Point Summer Leaders Experience, where she had the opportunity to train and learn integral leadership skills that she'll bring back to ECC.

Pickerington Central senior and Animal Management student at Fairfield Career Center, Juell Scott, is a prime example of grit and resilience after a bad sports injury and will to get back to competing at a high level. After a devastating and serious injury during football season last year, Juell beat the odds to not just return to athletics but work to become a state track champion.

Basic Police Officer Training graduate Josh Dillard overcame a big personal challenge to graduate from the academy but now sets his sights on making a larger impact on his community.

SkillsUSA
Eastland Career Center students achieved the highest of accolades during the 2024 SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference when they won the gold medal.
Seniors McKenna Bell (Bloom-Carroll), Lola Phillips (Amanda-Clearcreek), and Amberly Byrd (Pickerington North) represented ECC in the Promotional Bulletin Board team event where their work and presentation was recognized as the best in the high school competition.

FCCLA
Nine students from the Culinary Arts program at Eastland Career Center had the opportunity to travel to Seattle, Wash. for the 2024 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, where they brought home multiple national placements and celebrated nearly $50,000 in scholarship funds being awarded.
Eastland-Fairfield continues to grow and so we need new members to add to our team - and this year, we're calling our team The Pit Crew.
